
24 July 2026 – Avani+ Fares Maldives marked International Security Officers Day by recognising the dedication and professionalism of its Security Officers through a full day of cross-department collaboration, practical learning, and team-building activities.
As part of the celebration, Security Officers stepped beyond their routine responsibilities to support a range of operational departments, demonstrating teamwork, adaptability, and a strong commitment to the resort’s day-to-day operations.
Within the Food & Beverage Department, Security Officers assisted with operational tasks, including transporting and arranging water supplies to various outlets, as well as setting up sunbeds, umbrellas, and beach towels to ensure guest areas were fully prepared.
In the Housekeeping Department, the team supported linen and laundry operations by folding linen, organising laundry items, and arranging clothing and linen on designated storage racks, contributing to the department’s operational efficiency.
At the Front Office, Security Officers assisted with guest luggage handling and collection while also supporting the cleaning and maintenance of resort buggies to ensure they remained operational and presentable.
The Engineering Department provided Security Officers with an opportunity to assist in organising workshop and storage areas. They also attended an awareness session conducted by the Plant Operator, gaining a basic understanding of the resort’s power generation and distribution systems, plant room operations, equipment functions, and essential safety procedures.
Within the Recreation Department, Security Officers supported daily operations by transporting water, towels, and other supplies to the tennis court and recreational facilities while assisting with the preparation and organisation of activity areas.
At the Spa, the team contributed to the cleaning and maintenance of roof corridors and surrounding service areas, helping maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation.
In F&B Production, Security Officers assisted the culinary team with food preparation, including washing and chopping vegetables, while also participating in basic pastry preparation under the supervision of kitchen staff.
Meanwhile, in the People & Culture Department, the team supported the organisation of stored materials in Container 5, helping maintain cleanliness, proper storage practices, and efficient inventory management.
The celebration continued in the evening with a friendly football match against the Security Team of NH Collection Maldives Reethi Resort, promoting teamwork, strengthening inter-resort relationships, and encouraging a positive spirit of collaboration.
The day concluded with a joint BBQ dinner attended by both security teams, providing an opportunity to celebrate International Security Officers Day in an atmosphere of camaraderie, appreciation, and professional fellowship.
The initiative highlighted the diverse role of Security Officers within the hospitality industry, recognising their contribution not only to safety and security but also to supporting operational excellence through collaboration across multiple departments.
