Avani+ Fares Maldives commemorated Lifeguard Appreciation Day 2026 by conducting a full-scale missing person rescue drill, led by Cluster Security Manager Ibrahim Nasir. The exercise was organized to recognize the professionalism, preparedness, and teamwork of the resort’s lifeguard and emergency response teams while reinforcing the resort’s unwavering commitment to guest safety.

The scenario involved a simulated report of a missing guest while snorkeling, prompting the immediate activation of the resort’s Emergency Response Team. A coordinated search and rescue operation was carried out by the resort’s trained lifeguards and emergency response personnel in accordance with established emergency procedures.

The simulated guest was successfully located, safely recovered, and transferred for medical assessment by the resort’s medical team. Following the assessment, the exercise was successfully concluded, demonstrating the effectiveness of the resort’s emergency response protocols and the seamless coordination between all responding departments.

The event concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony attended by the resort’s management team, including General Manager Judd Rabbidge and Resort Manager Ahmed Naseem, together with all participating lifeguards in celebration of Lifeguard Appreciation Day 2026.

The exercise served as both a practical emergency preparedness initiative and a meaningful tribute to the dedication and professionalism of the resort’s lifeguard team. It highlighted the critical role lifeguards play in safeguarding guests and maintaining a safe environment while reaffirming Avani+ Fares Maldives’ ongoing commitment to safety, continuous training, and operational excellence.
