FB IMGInstructor Team of the Maldives Swimming and Life Saving Skills Training School (MSLSSTS) has arrived in R. Alifushi in preparation for the forthcoming Water Rescue and Lifeguard Training Programme, which is being organized in collaboration with the Secretariat of the Alifushi Council.

Upon arrival, the instructors held a coordination meeting with officials from the Secretariat of the Alifushi Council to discuss programme implementation, operational planning, participant coordination, logistical arrangements, and collaborative strategies to ensure the successful delivery of the training programme.

The upcoming programme will provide participants with comprehensive training in water rescue operations, lifeguarding principles, risk assessment, incident prevention, emergency response, and aquatic safety management. Through a combination of theoretical instruction and practical field-based exercises, the programme seeks to develop competent individuals capable of responding effectively to aquatic emergencies while promoting a culture of safety and prevention.

During the meeting, the instructors emphasized the importance of internationally aligned training, competency-based learning, and community preparedness in reducing drowning risks and strengthening emergency response capabilities. Particular attention was given to enhancing local capacity and empowering communities with the knowledge and skills required to safeguard lives in and around aquatic environments.

The collaboration between the Maldives Swimming and Life Saving Skills Training School and the Secretariat of the Alifushi Council reflects a shared commitment to advancing water safety, promoting public awareness, and building safer and more resilient island communities.
